Funeral services are scheduled for 11:00 A.M. on Wednesday, Dec. 23, 2009, at LaGrone Funeral Chapel for Martha Ara Bartlett, age 92, of Roswell who passed away Dec. 20, 2009, at her residence. Interment will follow at Memory Lawn Memorial Park.
Martha was born Nov. 28, 1917, to Samuel E. and Emma Golightly in White Flat, Texas. They both have preceded her in death as well as a son, Jimmy Wayne Bartlett and a daughter Betty Louise Tricarico.
Martha married Ralph E. Bartlett Sr. on Oct. 5, 1936, in Dexter. He has also preceded her in death.
Martha is survived by four daughters: Janet E. Yates, Joyce A. Tutterow, Peggy Bartlett and Tammie Bartlett, all of Roswell; one son: Ralph "Gene" Bartlett of Roswell; two sisters: Flora Bess Thompson of California and Dolly O. Martin of Reno, Nev.; 29 grandchildren, 58 great-grandchildren, 31 great-great-grandchildren and working on the fifth generation.
Pallbearers will be her grandchildren, Dean Wilson, Ron Lunsford, Jerad Lunsford, Chad Lunsford, Brandon Tutterow and Freddy Rivera.
She was a housewife, a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great-grandmother. She would do without to make sure everyone else was taken care of. She will be greatly missed by all.
