Otto G. Schaefer, 95, of N7154 Long Lake Rd., Brillion, died Monday, Aug. 7 at St. Vincent Hospital in Green Bay from an unexpected illness.
He was born March 7, 1894, in Rantoul, son of the late Gottlieb and Anna (Freuck) Schaefer. He married Bertha Mathiebe on Nov. 16, 1916, in Brillion.
He farmed in Rantoul his entire life. He also worked for the Brillion Co-op, retiring in 1959. He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Brillion.
Survivors include a daughter, Mildred Matznick, Chilton; a daughter-in-law, Refena Schaefer, Brillion; a sister-in-law, Dorothy Mathiebe, Brillion; four grandchildren; six great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife; a son, Lester, a son-in-law, Harvey Matznick; two sisters and four brothers.
Funeral services will be held at Trinity Lutheran Church, Brillion. The Rev. Ross Henzi will officiate. Burial will be at Potter Cemetery.
