OBIT-PRESQUE ISLE COUNTY ADVANCE-Vol 42, #14, Thurs, 04/01/1920

The remains of August Adrian, well known Rogers farmer and old resident of Presque Isle county, were laid to rest in the Rogers Cemetery Sunday (28 Mar 1920), a large number of friends gathering for the last farewell. The service was in charge of Pastor Ross of St John's Lutheran Church. Undertaker Kerby had charge of the burial.

The deceased had been ill for some weeks and death was due to a cancer of the stomach. Some months ago he was taken to Ann Arbor but the disease had gotten too far in its progress and nothing could be done for him there. He lingered in pain and suffering until Thursday night when merciful death ended his earthly trials.

Mrs Mary Crapoff of Battle Creek, a sister, arrived here Tuesday in response to a call telling her of the near approach of the end and together with his children and other immediate members of the family, was with him to the end.

The deceased is survived by his son Fred with whom he made his home and his daughter Mrs Eda Fordney of Detroit, and by his brother Ernest Adrian and (three) sisters Mrs John Brunning, Sr, of Belknap; Mrs Henry Luedman of Mt Clemens, and Mrs Crapoff.
