COLUMBUS - Francis L. Fox, age 88, passed away on Wednesday, March 28, 2007, in Columbus. He was born on Dec. 14, 1918, in the town of Hampden to Leo F. and Helen (Wedel) Fox. He was married to Anita Schwoerer on July 22, 1939, in Columbus. Francis was a life long town of York dairy farmer. He was Chief Ranger of the Catholic Order of Foresters Court No. 1708 of East Bristol for many years. He also served on the Columbus Town Mutual board and was a member of St. Jerome Catholic Church, Columbus. Survivors include four daughters; a son; 10 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; three sisters, Angeline Darrow of Los Angeles, Calif., Gertrude C. Fox of Mission Viejo, Calif. and Alice (Gordon) Suthers of Platteville; other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his wife, Anita, in 2003; parents; and a sister, Agnes Fox. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, March 31, 2007, at ST. JEROME CATHOLIC CHURCH, Columbus. The Rev. Bruce Hennington will officiate. Interment will be in the St. Jerome Catholic Cemetery, Columbus. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. until the time of services at the church on Saturday. Memorials may be directed to the charity of one's choice.
