Albert was born on Oct. 22, 1920, in Winfield, the son of the late Willie F. Buckingham and late Carrie Leatherwood Buckingham.
Albert was a former farmer who retired from Congoleum Industries in 1983 after 23 years. He was an active member of Salem United Methodist Church in Winfield. He was a 40-year charter member of the Winfield Volunteer Fire Department and a member of the Carroll County Fire Police.
Surviving besides his wife are son and daughter-in-law A. Wayne and Faye Buckingham of Frederick, son Galen Buckingham of Winfield, daughter and son-in-law Ruthann and Ernie Pittinger of Winfield, grandson Bryan Pittinger and wife Evie of Elizabethtown, Pa., granddaughter Stacy Baxter and husband Stephen of Frederick, sister and brother-in-law Thelma and Charles Mann of Westminster, sister-in-law Ethel Buckingham of Eldersburg and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by sisters Myrtle Muller, Edith Deardorff and Rosa Crumbacker and brothers Chester Buckingham and Floyd Buckingham.
