MASON Zona Eilene Mason, age 85, of Thornville, Oh., passed away Sunday, April 12, 2009 at her residence, in Thornville, Oh. She was born on October 17, 1923 in Pleasant Township, Oh.; to the late Carlton and Flonnie (Spangler) Vance. She was married to Virgil for 53 years when he passed on in 1995, and graduated in 1941 from Darby Township High School in Derby, Oh., she retired from the State of Ohio Department of Public Welfare. Zona is survived by her children. Carole Fife of Circleville, Oh. and William (Connie) Mason from Middletown, Oh.; niece, Iona Speakmon of Columbus, Oh.; numerous other nieces and nephews; six granddaughters, numerous great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Virgil Mason. Calling hours will be held Wednesday, April 15, 2009 from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at BORING-SHERIDAN FUNERAL HOME, 56 South Main Street, Thornville, Oh. Funeral service will be held Thursday, April 16, 2009 at 11 a.m. at the funeral home with Pastor Doug Lynn officiating. Burial will follow at Pleasant Cemetery, Mt Sterling, Oh.
