Floyd A. Rowe, 86, Route 1, Paxico, died Monday at a Topeka hospital after a short illness. He was born Oct. 19, 1985, at Newburg, Iowa, the son of William S. and Sara Green Rowe. He moved to the Snokomo community near Paxico in 1962. He worked for the Gas Service Co., in Topeka 25 years before he retired in 1960. He was an Army veteran of World War I, having served in France. Mr. Rowe was a member of Seabrook United Church of Christ, topeka Lodge No. 17 AF&AM, and Jayhawk Barracks No. 1113 of World War I Veterans, all in Topeka. He was a life member of Philip Billard Post No. 1650 of Veterans of Foreign Wars in Topeka and was a member of Wabaunsee County Farm Bureau, Wabaunsee County Historical Society and the Wamego Country Club. He married Laura Neely in 1923. She died in February 1932. He was married to Edna Lee Jones Sept. 20, 1932. She survives. Other survivors include two sons, Delmas Rowe, Ponca City, Okla., and Monty Rowe, Midlothian, Va.; a daughter, Mrs. Doris Ross, Topeka; 12 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. Cremation is planned. Memorial services will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Maple Hill Community Church. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association, 5229 W. 7th, 66606. Penwell-Gabel Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
