Mr. Booth, 72, died Monday in Anson General Hospital after a long illness.
Sam was born at Wolfe City on 16 Mar 1888. He was the son of Charles A. Booth and Sarah Ellen Dobbyns.. Sam married Mary Ellen Devaney at Lake Creek in 1910.
Sam and Mary Ellen moved to Jones County in 1935. Sam farmed in the Funston community until 1949, when he retired and moved into Anson.
Sam is noted as being survived by his wife and several nieces and nephews.
The body layed in state at the family residence, 2002 Ave. L, until the service. The funeral was held Wednesday at 3 p.m. in Bethel Memorial Methodist Church with the Rev. Larry Sullivan, pastor officiating. Burial was in Mount Hope Cemetery here under direction of Lawrence Funeral Home.
