Airy Elizabeth "Libby" Shocklee Johnson, age 83, of Richmond, died Saturday (June 7, 2003) at her residence. She was born In Owensboro, Ky, on June 14, 1919, to Ivo and Cliffie King Shocklee and had lived in Indiana since childhood. She had a great love for flowers and was the owner and operator of Libby's Greenhouse for 18 years. She enjoyed gardening, traveling and bingo. Survivors include: son, Jack Shepard of Richmond; daughters, Billie Perry of Centerville, Donna Seniour of New Castle, Iva Sue Smith of Connersville, May Johnson of Richmond, Kay Kannianen of Port St. Lucie, Fla., Jane Woolwine of Centerville; brothers, Kerney Shocklee of Muncie, Dean Shocklee of Rising Sun; sister, Alma Gabbard of Cambridge City; 25 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Edwin Johnson; two sons, Robert Shepard and Jerry Thompson; a daughter, Carol Smith; two brothers, Truman Shocklee and Bobby Shocklee; and two sisters, Mary Ruth Shocklee and Margaret Francis Shocklee. Services will be held at 3 p.m. on Monday (June 9, 2003) in Riggle-Waltermann Mortuary. Rev. Steve Abernathy will officiate. Burial will be in Lutherania Cemetery. Friends may call on Monday (June 9, 2003) from 12 noon to 3 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to Covenant Hospice, 1029 S. 14th St., New Castle, IN 47362.
