PLOT J ROW 4 GRAVE 5
1. This Veteran's last name is actually LOYD - one L only. This is confirmed in the National Archives enlistment database, 384th Bomb Group records, and in the application for his headstone. The headstone was not produced in conformance with the application: why it was accepted like this is unknown.
2. The reference to burial in Cambridge American Cemetery is out-of-date. Tracey Haylock, Cemetery Assistant at CAC, confirmed that his remains had been repatriated, and now rest in Oakwood Cemetery, Paris, Arkansas, presumably at the location of the marker.
