Frank served as a Private First Class in Ordnance with the ground support crew, 412th Bomber Squadron, 95th Bomber Group, U.S. Army Air Force during World War II.

He resided in New York prior to the war.

Frank was "Killed In Action" at the Alconbury Royal Air Force Base in England along with 18 other airmen when, while loading B-17F (#42-29685), one of the 500 lb bombs exploded and caused a chain reaction of other explosions.

The explosions killed 19 airmen, severly injured 20 others, damaged 11 B-17's, and totally destroyed 2 others. The two B-17's destroyed were #42-29685 & #42-29706.

He was originally interred in England and was later repatriated here on April 26, 1949.

Service # 32730585

The reason he is named on a group headstone is because when soldier's were killed in close proximity to each other they were unable, at that time, to identify them separately and interred their remains together in one grave.
