HAWARDEN, Iowa -- Curtis Charles Baugus, 72, of Hawarden, died Monday, Dec. 21, 2009, at his residence.
Services will be 10:30 a.m. Monday at the United Methodist Church in Hawarden, with the Rev. Barb Joy officiating. Burial will follow in the Grace Hill Cemetery. Visitation will begin at noon Sunday, with the family present from 3 to 4 p.m., at the Porter Funeral Home in Hawarden. Condolences may be sent to www.porterfuneralhomes.com.
Curtis Charles Baugus was born Oct. 21, 1937, in Hawarden, the son of Albert and Mattie (Nelson) Baugus. He attended school in Hawarden.
Curt married Ardis Morehead on Oct. 9, 1964. He worked construction and was a school bus driver for several years until he became disabled in 1980.
Curt loved to travel and enjoyed traveling with his wife and daughter to see his brother, nephews and nieces from Utah. He also loved visiting his cousins in South Dakota. His daughter and granddaughter were his pride and joy, whom he loved with his whole heart.
He was a member of the United Methodist Church in Hawarden.
Curt is survived by his wife, Ardis of Hawarden; daughter, Debbie Moffatt and husband, Stacy, and granddaughter, Hailey Moffatt, of Akron, Iowa; three stepgrandchildren; brother-in-law, Roger Morehead of Rock Valley, Iowa; sister-in-law, Audrey Johnson and husband, Vernon, of Alcester, S.D.; as well as many nephews, a niece, and cousins.
Curt was preceded in death by his parents; and brothers, Albert Baugus Jr. and Leonard Eddings.
