RINGGOLD, LOUISIANA - Funeral services for Garry Wayland Sanders, 70, will be held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, December 23, 2009, at Rockett Funeral Home Chapel in Ringgold, Louisiana.

Burial will follow in Old Ramah Cemetery in Ashland, Louisiana.

Officiating the services will be Bro. Lindle Stewart and Bro. Patrick Calhoun.

Mr. Sanders was born on July 8, 1939, and passed away on December 20, 2009. He was a Christian and of the Baptist faith.

He grew up in Transylvania, Louisiana.

After graduating from Lake Providence High School in 1957, Mr. Sanders served his country in the U. S. Army for three years.

He later went to work as a machinist for LeTourneau Inc. where he retired after 40 years.

He was preceded in death by his parents Tommy and Marjorie Sanders; his stepmother, Louise Sanders; and two sisters, Betty Fautheree and Gloria Blackwell and her husband Bobby.

Left to cherish his memories are his wife of forty-four years, Martha Sullivan Sanders of Longview, Texas; three sisters, Ethel McGlothlin of Bay City, Texas, Mae Taylor of Richardson, Texas, and Faye Aarons of Oak Grove, Louisiana; brother, Eddie Sanders of Bastrop, Louisiana; stepbrothers, Larry Boyte of Monroe, Louisiana, and Wayne Boyte of Oak Grove, Louisaiana; along with numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.
