OBITUARY - Plain Dealer, Wabash (IN)
Marguerite Louise McKinley, 94, Wabash, died Saturday, Aug. 18, 2007, at 7:20 p.m. at Bickford Cottage.

She was born June 11, 1913, in Wabash County to John A. and Carrie (Dawson) Thomas. Mrs. McKinley was a 1931 graduate of Lagro High School and earned her teaching certificate from Manchester College.

She married Ovid S. McKinley in Wabash County on May 1, 1937, and he died July 4, 2000. She taught 1st and 2nd grades at Lagro, Linlawn, Chippewa and Metro North elementary schools. Marguerite was a member of Asbury United Methodist Church 84 years, 1923-2007, where she served as church organist and pianist until age 90. She was also a member of United Methodist Women, Wabash Garden Club, Wabash County Retired Teachers Association and Lagro Century Club, and was a former 4-H leader.

Mrs. McKinley is survived by three daughters, Wanda Allen-Miller, Wabash, Ann (William) Deisher, Kirkwood, Ill., and Jane (David) Mann, Wabash; nine grandchildren, Roxy (Tony) Roser and Lalon (Tammy) Allen, both of Lagro, Lisa (Brent) Paxton, Silver Lake, Janet (Brian) Chamberlain, Urbana, Mike (Gim) Deisher, Hillsboro, Ore., Steve (Jodi) Deisher, Trevor, Wis., Scott (Michele) Mann, Franklin, Marlea (Brad) Dale, North Manchester, and Jared (Kate) Mann, Grapevine, Texas; 19 great-grandchildren, Tiffany and Amelia Roser and Erica, Morgan, and Levi Allen, all of Lagro, Kate Myers and Garrett and Russell Paxton, Silver Lake, Travis and Tanner Chamberlain, Urbana, Melodie and Justine Deisher, Hillsboro, Ore., Heidi, Brian and Katherine Deisher, Trevor, Wis., Breanna and Emily Mann, Franklin, and Ariel and Ainsley Dale, North Manchester. She was also preceded in death by two brothers and one sister.

Funeral services will be at Grandstaff-Hentgen Funeral Service, Wabash Chapel, 1241 Manchester Ave., on Sunday, Aug. 26, at 2 p.m. with the Rev. Philip Lake and the Rev. John Cook officiating. Burial will be in Falls Cemetery. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 25, at the funeral home. Preferred memorial is the Community Foundation of Wabash County.
