MCNABB — Chad K. Griffin, 24, of McNabb died at 9:40 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 12, 2009, at Good Samaritan Hospital in Downers Grove from results of an accident.
He was born Oct. 21, 1985, in Peru to Jon and Pam (Crew) Griffin.
He worked maintenance in landscaping and also helped his father in Griffin Trucking. He attended Putnam County elementary schools and Hall High School in Spring Valley.
Surviving are his mother, Pam (Ed French) Griffin of McNabb; his father and stepmother, Jon and Noreen Griffin of Ladd; his fiancee, Allison Struna of LaSalle; one daughter, Jersey Avianna Griffin of LaSalle; two sisters, Jessica (Chad) Coleman and Brittany Griffin, both of McNabb; two stepsisters, Nadeen Virgo of Ladd and Nicole Allen of LaSalle; one stepbrother, David Swiskoski of LaSalle; his grandmother, Maudie Crew of Magnolia; and aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Glen Crew, in 2002; his paternal grandparents, Don Griffin in 2003 and Betty Griffin in 1999; and four uncles.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday in the Helmer-Shields Funeral Home, Granville, with Pastor Gary McKee officiating.
Burial will be in Magnolia Cemetery, Magnolia.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
Memorials may be directed to the family for his daughter's education fund.
