Maxine Mary Orndorff, 87
WINCHESTER, Ky. - Maxine Mary Orndorff, 87, of Winchester, Ky., beloved wife of 67 years to Verne G. Orndorff, passed away Friday, Feb. 15, 2008, at Clark Regional Medical Center.
A native of Summerfield, and later a Zanesville resident, she was the daughter of the late Rufus and Lida Brownfield Hannahs. She was a secretary for the Yeiser Egg business in Winchester, Ky., for several years. She also worked for Roseville Pottery, the Zanesville Chamber of Commerce and the offices of the Henessey Trucking Company. Mrs. Orndorff was a member of the Fairfax Church of Christ, where she was the head of the ladies workshop, took an active part in the NARFE group of retirees and volunteered for many years at Clark Regional Medical Center in Winchester, where she worked at the front desk.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Susan O. (Gardner D.) Wagers of Winchester, Ky. and Leslie O. (George P.) Norton of Clark County; grandchildren, Ryan A. (Lisa) Norton of Winchester Ky., Sasha Y. Wagers of Lexington, Meredith N. (Tom) Cecil of Charleston, S.C., and G. David Wagers of Lexington; great-grandchildren, Beau P. Norton of Winchester, Ky., and Madeline C. Cecil of Charleston, S.C.; one sister, Kathleen H. Werner of Canton; and one brother, Ernest Hannahs of Zanesville.
Calling hours will be held from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 17, 2008, at the Rolan G. Taylor Funeral Home, 289 S. Main St., Winchester.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Monday, Feb. 18, 2008, at the funeral home, with Scott Pena officiating. Burial will be in the Winchester Cemetery. Pallbearers will include Ryan A. Norton, George P. Norton, Gardner D. Wagers, G. David Wagers, Parrish Renfro, Steve Taylor, Doug Billips and Tom Cecil.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Lady's Workshop Group, c/o Fairfax Church of Christ, 2475 Boonesboro Road, Winchester, Ky. or Hospital Auxiliary c/o Clark County Regional Hospital, 1107 W. Lexington Ave., Winchester, Ky.
