CENTRAL KENTUCKY NEWS JOURNAL OBITUARY – 05/13/1943 Funeral services for Nathan Cox, 79 years of age, were held at the Jones Chapel Methodist Church Thursday afternoon with the Rev. Rodford McDonald in charge. Burial was in the church cemetery. Mr. Cox died Wednesday [May 5, 1943] at the home of his sister, Kate Cox, near Acton. He was a member of the Stoner Creek Christian Church. Mr. Cox was a farmer and for several years has made his home with relatives. Mr. Cox is survived by 7 sons and 3 daughters: Herman Cox, Louisville; Owen, Alburn, Richard and Leslie Cox and Mrs. Janie Parsons, all of the county; and Lace Cox, of Illinois; Eff Cox, Garrard County; Mrs. Etta Wethington and Mrs. Anna Miller, Casey County. He also leaves a brother and 2 sisters, C.B. Cox, Mrs. Mary Tom Cox, and Mrs. Kate Cox, of Taylor County. He also leaves 50 grandchildren and a number of great-grandchildren
