Mrs. John Albert Dora May McClure was born December 10, 1880 at Republic City, Kan., and passed away from this life May 20, 1934, at Beloit, Kan., after an extended illness. She was married April 6, 1898 at Republic City to John R. Albert and they moved immediately to the farm south of Glen Elder where they were at home many years. In August, 1928, she and her husband moved to Beloit, and have lived here since. Her multitudes of friends are extremely saddened by the passing of this fine woman. She was nota s well known a s her husband who has for years been a prominent figure in civic, county and state affairs , but it was she who inspired him to further effort, who encouraged him when there dropped bits of criticism that are inevitable, and who helped him make and carry out their many plans. She kept a pleasant home and a happy family; She is survived by her husband, County Commissioner John R. Albert; her mother, Mrs. Susan McClure of Republic, and four children, Mrs. Elsie Noble of Republic, Mrs. Alta Oliver of Simpson, Mrs. Daisy Hauptli of Salina, and John Jr., of Glen Elder; six grandchildren and two sisters: Mrs. Maude , Nutter and Mrs. Mabel Beck of Republic, survive her, also. Mrs. Albert was a member of the United Brethren church in Beloit, the Rebekah and Eastern Star lodges of Glen Elder, and the Woman's Relief Corps of Beloit. Funeral services were conducted from the United Brethren; church in Beloit Tuesday afternoon with the Rev. M. L. Robey officiating and burial at Elmwood cemetery, Beloit.—Beloit CallBelleview Telescope 31 May 1934
