Benjamin Franklin Chilcoat was the son of William McClain and Keziah (Long) Chilcoat. He was the husband of Ruhamar (Miller) Chilcoat. Benjamin served in the Union Army during the Civil War. He died of heart trouble and asthma. Dr. G. W. C. James signed his death certificate.
