MISS PEARL BOTTS DIES IN GONZALES

Miss Pearl Botts, principal of Harlingen High school during World War I, died in Gonzales Wednesday night after a three-week illness. Miss Botts, who was a long time resident of Harlingen schools, has for the last few years worked in the First National Bank of Gonzales.
Her Brother the late Sam Botts, was for several years mayor of Harlingen.
She is survived by another brother, Dan Botts of Harlingen.
Mr. and Mrs. Dan Botts left Thursday morning for Gonzales to attend the funeral services which will be held there at 10 a.m. Friday.

Last Rites Friday For Pearl Botts

Final rites will be held Friday morning at 10 o'clock from the Seydler Funeral Home for Frances Pearl Botts, who died at the Holmes Memorial hospital Wednesday at 8:08 p.m. following an illness of several weeks in which she suffering a stroke at her apartment on St. Peter street.
Dr. Foy Valentine, pastor of the First Baptist church, will conduct the services with interment following in the Masonic cemetery.
Miss Botts was born on Nov. 15, 1888, in Gonzales county, and her parents were John H. and Elizabeth Davis Botts, both deceased. She had been an employee of the local bank for a number years serving as exchange teller, and was a member of the First Baptist church and its women's organizations.
Survivors include two brothers, Dan M. Botts of Harlingen and W.L Botts of Gonzales; one sister, Mrs. Laurence Boothby of Galveston.
Pallbearers will be V.S. Marett, George V. Holmes, Viron Ellis, Herman Braley, Horace Wood, Palmer Crockett, J.H. Rayson, and L.A. Konecny.
