Sidney-- Funeral services for Irving R. Brown, 35 Cartwright Avenue, Sidney, will be held in Carr-Landers Funeral Chapel Thursday afternoon at 2 o'clock with burial in Prospect Hill Cemetery.

Born Dec. 11, 1894 in Fair Haven, Conn., he had resided in Sidney about 10 years. He was employed as a machinist in Scintilla Magneto plant until 10 months ago. He married Lena Tibbetts who died in January, 1938.

He is survived by a sister, Mrs. Edith M. Purchase, of West Springfield, Mass.

Mr. Brown suffered a stroke Sunday afternoon and was taken to Sidney Hospital where he died at 11 o'clock that night.

He was a veteran of World War I and a member of the American Legion. He was also a member of the First Congregational Church of Sidney.
