Ivy Lou Cleveland, 94, of Stephenville, a homemaker, died Friday, Dec. 18, 2009, at a local nursing home.
Service: 2 p.m. Monday at Harvey Baptist Church, with the Rev. Emil Becker officiating. Interment: Erath Gardens of Memory Cemetery. Visitation: 4 to 6 p.m. Sunday at Lacy Funeral Home.
She was born on Aug. 9, 1915, to the late Edgar and Fannie Lou McPhail Hinrichs in Elgin. She married Sam Cleveland on Nov. 15, 1940, in Austin. He preceded her in death on April 23, 1973.
She was a faithful member of the First Baptist Church for many years where she taught Sunday school, was active in WMU, served as Acteens leader, and assisted in the International Student Ministry. She later joined Harvey Baptist Church where she continued to be active in WMU, serving as president, and taught a women's Bible class. She had been a member of the Stephenville Study Club where she served as president and was an active DAR member.
Survivors: Daughter, Judy Owens and husband, Don, of Belton; sons, Phillip Cleveland of Stephenville, Don Cleveland and wife, Carol, of Granbury and David Cleveland and wife, Frances, of Mineral Wells; grandchildren, Jason Owens and wife, Cammi, Erin Owens, Heather Cleveland, Garrett Cleveland, Karen Cleveland, Dana Konop and husband, John, Ellen Williams and husband, Rusty, and Kelly Stevens and husband, Brooks; stepgrandchildren, Brandon and Bradley Duckett; great-grandchildren, William and Samantha Konop, Grant Williams, and Sam Williams; several nieces and nephews; and a host of friends.
