Beloved husband, father, and grandfather passed away peacefully at his home.

A man of humble spirit born to pain and poverty in youth. In his later life Dad was blessed with security and a wealth of loved ones. He will be missed by all of his family dearly. A combat veteran of WWII, a Cannoneer, he landed on Normandy D-Day + 1, saw The Battle of the Bulge and the crossing of the Rhine. Dad celebrated Victory Europe Day with his outfit in Marseilles.

Born the youngest of seven children to James Solomon and Katherine Livingston in Milton, Utah (Tooele County).

He is survived by his beloved sweetheart, LaVene Gines Mounteer Solomon, married for fifty-five years. Walt was Dad to seven grateful children: Karl, LouDean (deceased), Sherlyn (Lee), Georga, Bruce (Dorothy), Gordon (June) and Kathy (Ken). How Grandpa's eyes lit up at seeing any of his twenty-five grandchildren, fifty great-grandchildren, and seven great-great-grandchildren.
