Mom will be missed by her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She left us on December 14, 2009 surrounded by her family. She leaves behind an emptiness in our lives, but will be forever in our hearts. She gave us a century-long legacy of memories.
Stella was born December 1, 1912 in Heber City, Utah to Marion B. and Caroline A. Lewis.
She married William Lyman Yates on March 10, 1931 in Farmington. She and dad raised eight children. He preceded her in death on February 2, 1961.
Mom was known for never sitting still. She enjoyed many activities, bowling, fishing, yard work, embroidery, crochet, motorcycle riding, dancing, traveling and spending time with her family, especially the little kids (everyone was little once). She LOVED her dogs.
Stella is survived by her children, Donald W., Daryl (Marydon), Glade (Norma), Robert (Debra), Darlene (Bill) Padilla, Bruce (Dawn), Julie (Az) Harash; thirty-two grandchildren; eighty-six great-grandchildren; and sixteen great-great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by her son, Marvin; daughter-in-law, Geraldine; four sisters; four brothers; and several grandchildren.
Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, December 19, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. at Memorial Estates Mortuary, 5850 South 900 East. A viewing will be held on Friday evening from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at the mortuary and one hour prior to the services on Saturday.
Interment: Park City Cemetery.
