Agda Bjorkquist was born July 4, 1908, in Metropolitan, daughter of the late Matt Bjorkquist and Hilda (Isaacson) Bjorkquist.
Agda Carlson was a lifelong resident of this area and a member of First Lutheran Church. She was a former member of Zion Lutheran Church in Metropolitan.
On July 4, 2004, Agda was recognized as the oldest Dickinson County resident born on the Fourth of July and was honored by riding in the parade.
In her younger days, she enjoyed traveling. Agda had worked for Dr. Huron for many years, both at his home and at his office.
She was survived by one sister; Ann (John) Porta of Iron Mountain and many nieces and nephews including Phyllis (Allen) Galeazzi, Raymond "Bud" (Dorothy) Edlund, Glenn (Shirley) Edlund, Karen Friend, Gary Erickson, Edwin Bjorkquist, Barbara (Don) Secrist, and Donna (Jim) Webb. She was also survived by many great nieces and great nephews.
She was preceded in death by her son, Norman Carlson in 1956, and by four sisters, Elsie Erickson, Sandra Zeman, Signe Edlund and Teckla Bjorkquist, and by two brothers; Edwin and Elmer Bjorkquist.
Services at First Lutheran Church in Iron Mountain.
