Elaine Ellen (Picotte) Berseth, age 84, Fargo, ND, died Friday, February 21, 2003, at the home of her son and daughter-in-law, Tom and Kris Berseth while under the care of Hospice of the Red River Valley.
Elaine Ellen Picotte was born March 2, 1918, in Kent, MN, to Louise and Arthur Picotte. She attended Romney School in Roberts Township, Wilkin County, MN. On June 7, 1941, Elaine
Picotte married Sanford Berseth at St. Benedict's Church, Wild Rice, ND. She was a wife and homemaker on their farm near Christine, ND.
In 1962, Elaine and her family moved to Fargo. Throughout the years she enjoyed gardening and music. Elaine was involved with St. Mary's Cathedral Church and Choir. She was a member of Catholic Daughters of America and F-M Music Clubs.
Elaine is survived by her son, Thomas (Kris), Fargo; her daughter, Mary Lou (Mike) DeChantal, Hayward, WI; her granddaughters, Jennifer (Jay) Ulven, Jacksonville, FL, Jackie (Dale) Thorlakson, Fargo, Nichole DeChantal and Bridgette DeChantal, Eau Claire, WI; her grandsons, Matt Berseth, Fargo, and Christopher DeChantal, Stevens Pointe, WI; her great-grandson, Parker Thorlakson, Fargo; and her sisters, Joyce Rogers, White Bear Lake, MN, Jeanne Morken, Wahpeton, ND, and Ione Kurtz, Hermantown, MN.
She was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; her brothers, Harvey Picotte, Larry Picotte, Adrean Picotte, and Claire Picotte; and her sisters, Lauverne Schill and Marlys anne Cossette.
