Born April 25, 1929 in Bartlettsville, in northern Lawrence Co., he was the son of Winford and Bertha (Blackwell) Bartlett. He married Martha Meadows on September 7, 1956 and she survives. He was a life-time farmer and a veteran of the U.S. Army serving during the Korean War. He was a member of the Gillen Post #33 American Legion and the Bartlettsville Christian Church.
Surviving with his wife, Martha are his daughter, Melissa Day and husband, Mark of Heltonville; two granddaughters, Whitney and Bailey Day of Heltonville; one brother, Opal Bartlett of Bedford; three sisters, Jeannie Reuter and Velma Chambers both of Oolitic and Peggy Ritter of Bedford. He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, Virgal "Tickie" Bartlett and a sister, Doris Irene Bartlett.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 pm on Sunday, December 20th at the Elmwood Chapel of the Day & Carter Mortuary with Pastor Tim Day officiating. Burial will follow in the Bartlettsville Christian Church Cemetery. Friends may call from 3:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Saturday, December 19th at the Day & Carter Mortuary.
