--ROCK HILL - Mr. James Creighton Catoe, 85, of 127 Murrah Drive, passed away Wednesday, Dec.16, 2009, at Piedmont Medical Center.
--Graveside services for Mr. Catoe will be 1 p.m., Friday, Dec.18, at Forest Hills Cemetery, with Pastor Arnie McManus officiating.
--Born in York County, S.C., Mr. Catoe was the son of the late Orlin and Essie Tiller Catoe. He was a member of Catawba Baptist Church and a retired truck driver. Mr. Catoe also retired from the U.S. Army National Guard with 29 years of service and a member of the American Legion. In addition to his parents, Mr. Catoe was preceded in death by his wife, Bonnie Kanipe Catoe; his son, William J. Goodson; two brothers; and three sisters. Mr. Catoe is survived by his sisters, Jean C. McCoy, Essie C. Starnes and Vermell C. Alexander, all of Rock Hill; his granddaughters, Angela McManus and Carrina Dickinson, both of Edgemoor and Belinda Hollis of Rock Hill; and two great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
--The family will receive friends following the burial at Forest Hills Cemetery and at other times at the home of Joni Waggoner, 4136 Tobe Road, Edgemoor.
