Wanda June (Keller) Parr, 84, Topeka, passed away December 17, 2009 at Topeka Adult Care Center.

She was born February 14, 1925 in Kansas City, Missouri, the daughter of Linn and Emma Keller of Delia. She graduated from Nieve Grade School and from Delia High School in 1943.

Mrs. Parr lived in the Delia and Rossville communities the majority of her life. She was a farm wife as well as worked many years at Petro's Surgical Supply in Topeka where she was a trained brace fitter. After retiring, she worked part-time as a receptionist for Carriger's Eye Doctors, Rossville.

Mrs. Parr was a member of the Rossville Presbyterian Church and later the Delia Presbyterian Church. She served as an elder, was a Sunday school teacher, and taught Vacation Bible School. Upon moving to Topeka in 1998, she joined Westside Christian Church. She was a member of Eastern Star at Rossville. Mrs. Parr was a 4-H community project leader for both the Rossville Rustlers and Delia Earlybirds 4-H Clubs. She grew up loving sports, especially softball. She loved bowling, playing cards with her neighbors, and traveling. She was a great cook and exceptional seamstress. She also loved spending time with her family, brothers and sisters, nieces, nephews, and friends.

She married Leroy Charles Parr on December 28, 1946. He passed away in 2002.

Survivors include two daughters, Jane Parr, Ponte Verde Beach, FL and Janice (Louie) Nash, Arlington, TX; son, KelLee Parr, Topeka; sister, Naomi Sumner, Topeka; and grandchildren, Bo Nash and Elizabeth (Gabe) Williams, all of Arlington, TX.

She was preceded in death by her brothers Phillip and John Vernon Keller; and a sister Geneva Fairbanks.

Funeral Service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, December 22 at Penwell-Gabel Southwest Chapel, 3700 SW Wanamaker Rd in Topeka.

Burial will follow at the Rossville Cemetery.

Mrs. Parr will lie in state after 2:00 p.m. on Monday, at the funeral home with visitation from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m.
