Susan Anne Gormley was born to James and Elizabeth (Atkins) Gormley at Windsor Forks, Nova Scotia. She married John Benoni Sweet on September 5, 1877 in Windsor, Nova Scotia. Their first four children were born in Nova Scotia before they moved to Humboldt County, California. Their last five children were born there. They moved to Coos County before 1910. She was predeceased by her husband in 1925.
