MICHAEL LUTHER McNAY

Michael Luther McNay was born January 16, 1868, in Greene county, Pennsylvania, and died in the Harkens hospital, Osceola, Iowa, November 5, 1939, at the age of 71 years, 9 months and 19 days.

He came to Lucas county, Iowa, in the spring of 1886 and spent the remainder of his life near Derby, Iowa, living on his farm 1 1/2 miles south of Derby for over 50 years, except for one year spent in Colorado.

He was united in marriage to Lora C. Ingalls on June 14, 1894. To this union two sons were born, Merrill and Charles.

He is survived by his wife, his son Merrill and wife of Tucson, Arizona; Charley and wife, living on the home farm; four brothers, George P. McNay and Dr. Lazear McNay of California; Dr. A. L. McNay of Missouri; John T. McNay of Derby, Iowa; one sister, Ollie Bristor of Maywood, Ill.; three half-sisters, Florence Henderson, Daisy Blatchley, Gertrude McNay and their mother, Frances McNay, of Wind Ridge, Pennsylvania.

He enjoyed the church and Sunday school and held to the Presbyterian church.

Funeral services were held Wednesday at the Dunshee funeral home. The Rev. A. E. Beals, of Russell, conducted the services. Burial was in the Derby cemetery.
