Publisher and Author. She became the Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of the Rodale Publishing Company after the death of her husband Robert Rodale in 1990 and ran the company for many years. She remained CEO until 2002 and relinquished the role of Chairman in 2007, giving control to her daughter. Rodale Publishing prints some of the nations most popular magazines, including "Prevention" and "Runner's World". Under her leadership Rodale launched "Men's Health Magazine" and also published "The Doctors Book of Home Remedies" which sold 20 million copies. She also wrote a series of self help books including her memoir, "Climbing Toward The Light: A Journey Of Growth" in 1989 and "Reflections: Finding Love, Hope and Joy in Everyday Life". In 1996 she was named one of the 50 Best Women in Business in Pennsylvania by the Central Penn Business Journal and in 1997, then Pennsylvania Governor Tom Ridge named her a Distinguished Daughter of Pennsylvania. Also in 1997 Working Woman Magazine named her one of the top 50 Women Business Owners in the United States and in 1999 The Star Group chose her as one of the 50 Leading Women Entrepreneurs in the World.
