Cordonna Marie Parrish, 88, of Kahoka, Mo., died Tuesday, Dec. 15, 2009, at Clark County Nursing Home in Kahoka.
Born Dec. 20, 1920, in rural Clark County, Mo., she was the daughter of Carl and Mary Howell McCarty. On Oct. 12, 1940, she married Carson F. Parrish. He died Jan. 19, 1992.
Mrs. Parrish taught at Hogan School while her husband was in the service. She farmed with her husband in the Bethlehem community. She graduated from Luray High School in Missouri. She was a lifelong resident of Clark County and resided around the Bethlehem community, near Luray, most of her life. She was a member of Bethlehem Baptist Church where she served as pianist for many years. She enjoyed gardening, crocheting, collecting hymnals and animals.
Survivors include one son, Wesley Parrish of Kahoka; one daughter, Wanda Parrish of Memphis, Mo.; four grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents and one sister.
Visitation will be from 1 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Vigen Memorial Home in Kahoka where the family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m.
The funeral for Mrs. Parrish will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Vigen Memorial Home with the Rev. Jim Campbell officiating. Burial will be in Bethlehem Cemetery.
A memorial has been established for Bethlehem Cemetery.
