He was a German royal and soldier. He was a member of the Princely House of Hohenzollern-Sigmaringen, Hohenzollern.

He was born on October 7, 1841 to his parents:
Charles Anthony, Prince of Hohenzollern and
Josephine Friederike Luise, Princess of Baden.

He was very close to his brother, Carol I, King of Romania.

Anton was supposed to marry Princess Louise of the United Kingdom but did not.

Instead, on April 26, 1862, he married Princess Antoinette (March 12, 1839-May 17, 1918), daughter of Ludwig zu Sayn-Wittgenstein-Berleburg and his second wife, Princess Leonilla.

His marriage to Princess Antoinette on that night there was a imperial ball at Karlsruhe to celebrate the special occasion.

Anton decided to go to the battle, his parents and his wife disagreed with him on this. He completely refused and went to the battle without supporters.

He was killed in the battle and is buried in a chapel very close to Karlsruhe, Germany.

Anton and Antoinette only had one child though their marriage, Princess Antoinette Leonilla Josephine (1865-1904).

After Prince Auton's death, Antoinette remarried though.
