After coming back from war. He and his family moved to Brewster, Kansas, where he made a quilt for their daughter who was due to be born. He said he just knew that it was a girl, and he was correct. After that they moved to Davis, California, where he was manager of the Hardware store. A family story goes like this: At one point he had a bunch of mouse traps for 10 cents, but they were not selling, so he changed the price to be 2 for 25 cents. Sold out in no time!

A Fourth of July tragedy near Woodland, Calif., took the lives of two well known former Superior men, Dr. William Gibson, and Robert E. Peterson. The men were brothers-in-law.

Both families were at the Gibson home in Woodland, for the Fourth, and the men had gone on a fishing trip about 15 miles away. It was on their way home, at about 5 p.m., that the accident occurred.

The car in which the men were riding was struck in the side at an intersection, by a car occupied by two women, both of whom where also killed in the collision. According to the patrolman who investigated the accident, the women had been traveling at a speed of about 75 miles per hour and had failed to stop at a red light at the crossing.

The Gibson family moved to California several years ago where Dr. Gibson is said to have built up a splendid chiropractic practice. He is a son of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Gibson of Bostwick. There is one child in the family, Gregory, age 9.

Before entering chiropractic college about 10 years ago, Dr. Gibson was employed by the Bureau of Reclamation in Superior. His wife is the former Elizabeth Young, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Hugh Young of Hardy.

The Peterson family has been living in Davis, Calif., since last fall. There is a married son and two sons and a daughter at home. Mr. Peterson was employed for a number of years at the McGrath Hardware Store in Superior. Mrs. Peterson is the former Phyllis Young, also a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Hugh Young.

A double funeral is being held today (Thursday) at 10:30 a.m., at the Methodist church in Superior, and interment will take place at Evergreen.
