Ida Mae Eckwall, 84, formerly of Cantril and Fairfield, died on February 23, 1993 at Van Buren Good Samaritan Hospital. Funeral services were held Thursday at Pedrick Funeral Home with Rev. Kim Eanes officiating. Burial was in Evergreen Cemetery in Fairfield. She was born on November 17, 1908 in Mount Pleasant to George and Ida Mae (Blythe) Carver. She married Thomas Washington Martin on October 23, 1929. He died on November 19, 1952. She married Ervin Eckwall on November 27, 1959. He died on March 28, 1977. She was also preceded in death by her parents; her brothers, Charles Carver, Frank Carver, George Emil Carver, and Pearl Clifford Carver; her sisters, Elizabeth Sempf, Jessie Ford, and Rose Alice Smith; and her step-sons, Miles Martin and Walter Martin. She is survived by her sons, Dean Martin and Wilbur Donald Martin, both of Cantril; her step-daughters, Ermalee Teel and Virginia Beach; seven grandchildren; eight step-grandchildren; nineteen great-grandchildren; and seventeen step-great-grandchildren.
