MEMPHIS - Jean Srygley, 84, died Saturday, Sept. 22, 2007.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday in First United Methodist Church with the Rev. Leonard Forsythe officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery by Hughs Funeral Home of Memphis.

Jean was born July 3, 1923, in Burkburnett to the late Commodore Stephens and Mamie Cates Stephens. She was a 1941 graduate of Lakeview High School, where she was valedictorian of her class. She was a lifelong resident of Hall County. She married Melvin Srygley on June 7, 1941, in the Methodist parsonage in Hedley. He preceded her in death on Aug. 7, 2001.

In her early years, she was a beautician and later became owner of a children's store in Memphis. She was also a member of First United Methodist Church and a homemaker.

She was also preceded in death by three brothers and a sister.

Survivors include a son, Jimmy Srygley and wife Nancy of Amarillo; a daughter, Pat Floyd and husband Dwight of Memphis; a sister, Mamie Lee Roberts of Borger; three grandchildren, Larissa Floyd of Memphis, Jeff Srygley and wife Corina of Amarillo and Slade Floyd and wife Lori of Wellington; and four great-grandchildren.
