Bolton- Joe Wilson, 74 died Friday in Clinton Hospital. His wife, Irene (Olbrys) Wilson died in 1994. He leaves two sons, Gregory Wilson of Clinton and Wesley Wilson of Boxboro; two daughters, Martha Schmidt of Lancaster and Mary Kelly of Ashland; four brothers, Deaderick Wilson of Tullahoma, Tenn., Millard Wilson of Athens, GA., Robert Wilson of Portland, Ore., and Stanley Wilson of Denver, nine grandchildren; nephews and nieces. Born and raised in Johnson City, Tenn., son of Charles and Rachel (Rice) Wilson, he lived about 24 years in Clinton and 27 years in Bolton.
A WWII Army veteran, he served as a medical technician in Europe and North Africa. He participated in eight battles including the D-Day invasion of Normandy and the Battle of the Bulge. He received a Bronze Star.
