Lorraine G. "Bobbie" Roach, daughter of William Allen and Hattie (Hammond) Roach, was born August 22, 1913 on the family farm in rural Yankton County, SD. She grew up and attended country school near Utica, SD. Bobbie graduated from Olivet High School. After her schooling she lived and worked at a motel in Wakonda, SD.
Bobbie was united in marriage with Eiel Lunde on November 26, 1936, in Sioux Falls, SD. The couple made their home in Sioux Falls for a time where Bobbie worked at various businesses. They then moved to California where Eiel was employed in a defense plant and later entered the US Army. The couple later returned to Sioux Falls where Bobbie was a homemaker and raised their sons. In 1963, when their sons were school age, she began her employment as a lunchroom aide at the Sioux Falls Public Schools. Bobbie worked for 20 years at Patrick Henry Junior High as a lunchroom aide. She retired in 1983.
In her retirement, Bobbie volunteered at RSVP, the Alzheimer's Association and as a cookie baker for the Ronald McDonald House in Sioux Falls.
She was a member of Bethel Lutheran Church in Sioux Falls, where in earlier years she was active in Ladies Aide, Altar Committee and as a Sunday School teacher. Bobbie enjoyed visiting with relatives and friends. She was very concerned about her family and loved spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandson.
Grateful for having shared her life are her two sons, Lee Lunde and his wife, Kathleen, Sioux Falls, SD, Lloyd Lunde and his wife, Mary, Hartford, SD; three grandchildren, Megan Sweet and her husband, Larry, Sioux Falls, SD, Jennifer Lunde, Brookings, SD, Nathan A. Lunde, Hartford, SD; one great-grandson, Xander Sweet, Sioux Falls, SD; one brother, James Roach, Yankton, SD; one sister, Eleanor Rames, Kalispell, MT; numerous nieces and nephews; and a host of other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband Eiel on December 6, 1989; a granddaughter, Ambur Lunde on July 14, 1987; her parents; three brothers, Perry, Lyle, and Pat; three sisters, Eva, Grace, and Linnie.
Relatives and friends are invited to gather with the family for lunch and fellowship at Bethel Lutheran Church following the committal service.
