Glenn E. Durand, 79, of Arnold, died Sunday, Dec. 6, 2009, at home. He was born Aug. 6, 1930, in Natrona Heights, to the late John and Stella Bowser Durand. He was a longtime resident of the Alle-Kiski Valley. Mr. Durand managed the Arnold Feed Store for many years. He was an Army veteran. Surviving are his children, Tracy Durand, of New Kensington, Diana Durand, of Arnold, Nancy (Bart) Black, of Lower Burrell, John (fiancee, Christine Behr) Durand and Charles (Cochelle) Durand, both of New Kensington; 24 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and three brothers, Andy and Robert Durand, both of Sarver, and Carl Durand, of Lower Burrell. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Shirley Whitehead Durand, on April 21, 2005; two sons, David and Glenn Durand; and siblings, Vera, Roy, Marie, Garnet and Tom. Visitation will be 10 a.m. until services at noon Thursday in ROSS G. WALKER FUNERAL HOME, New Kensington. The Rev. Harold Mele will officiate at the service. Private burial will be in Union Cemetery, Arnold.
