Kokomo Tribune - Friday, June 7, 1985:

Russell Wayne "Steakman" Murphy, 41, of North Market Street, died at his home at
2:45 p.m. Thursday, June 6, 1985.

Born in Kokomo on October 21, 1943, he was the son of the late Roy R. Murphy and Ruby Craig Murphy Addison of Kokomo, who survives. He was married August 23, 1975 to Barbara Ann Wright who also survives.

Other survivors are a stepfather, Wayne Addison of Kokomo; two step-sisters, Marilyn Boyd of Tipton and Linda Ray of West Memphis, Arkansas; four step-brothers, Robert J. Leicht of Sharpsville and Wayne T. Addison, Roger Addison, and Edward Addison, all of Kokomo; and a paternal step-grandmother, Leona M. Webster of Flora.

He attended the Salvation Army Citadel and was a member of the Indiana CB Alligators Club.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Monday at Ellers Mortuary with Maj. Donald Brundige and the Rev. Macklyn Brandish officiating. Burial will be at Crown Point Cemetery. Calling at the mortuary will be from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday.
