Phebe Ann Cox is a direct descendent of General James Cox of the Revolutionary War. (b. 1753-1810 Monmouth County, N.J.). Phebe is one of the nine children of Reverend David J. Cox and Rozina Bake Cox. Her siblings were William Cox, Timothy Bake Cox, Jonathan D. Cox, Henry Cox, Samuel Cox, Rozina Cox, James Cox, and David Cox. Phebe married James Sullivan Lovejoy in Greensburg, Decatur Co., IN on Feb. 25, 1846. Their eleven children were Nannie Lovejoy, Thaddeus Morse Lovejoy, Samuel Sheldon Lovejoy, Mary L. Lovejoy, David "Warren" Lovejoy, Martha "Matt" Esther Lovejoy, Roxina Lovejoy, James Sullivan "Jim" Lovejoy, Alice Luella Lovejoy, Frank Edgar Lovejoy and an infant son who was born and died in 1856.
