Abner Boggs, the veteran building contractor of Kokomo, died Saturday afternoon at his home just southwest of the city of erysipelas of the face, aged sixty-five years. His illness had been serious only for a few days, although he had been in failing health for several months. The funeral occurred from the residence this afternoon. At the request of the deceased, the ceremonies of burial were limited to a very brief service at the grave.
Abner Boggs had done contracting in Kokomo for forty years and was regarded as a good workman. He served three years in the war of the rebellion and was accounted a good soldier. Among his acquaintances, he was regarded as a man of many commendable qualities, though somewhat inclined to be eccentric.
