Henry Eugene Strickland was born in Cass Co, MI to William and Saville Matilda Strickland. He had 5 brothers and 4 sisters. Around 1869 his parents moved with 7 of their children to Coffey Co, KS.Eugene went to school here and helped on the family farm. He married Sarah E. Rasor in 1881 and they had 3 children, Nora, Bertha and Earl. They moved to Logan Co, OK after the landrun, where he continued farming. When his wife Sarah passed away in 1903, and his children grown and on their own, he moved on and in Nov of 1905 married Evaline Louisa Rowley in Roger Mills Co, OK. They had three children together, Merle, Doris and Kenneth. Henry Eugene passed away at the age of 65 years.
