Ira R. Lambert
Chatfield, Minn. - Ira R. Lambert, 72, justice of the peace here, died of a heart attack Tuesday morning in the office of the city clerk. He had just checked in at his office.
He was born March 30, 1894, to Mr. and Mrs. Emmanuel Lambert, Fergus Falls, Minn. He farmed in this area until 1952 when he moved to the village and then worked at the Rochester State Hospital from 1952 to 1959 when he retired. He had taught vocational agriculture to former servicemen from 1947 to 1952. A graduate of Fergus Falls High School, he attended the University of Minnesota School of Agriculture.
He married Olive Bernard here April 15, 1920 [sic], after serving in France in World War I.
He was a member of the Masonic lodge and had served as its secretary, of Royal Arch Masons and of the Order of Eastern Star, serving at one time as master of the lodge and worthy patron of the OES. He was treasurer of the American Field Service chapter; a member of Rotary; newly elected president of the Fillmore County Historical Society; had served as commander of the American Legion post and as district commander; was Sunday school superintendent of the Cummingville church and a board member of the Pioneer Presbyterian Church here. He was merit badge counselor for the Boy Scouts.
He is survived by a son, Lloyd, Chatfield; two daughters, Mrs. H. B. (Anthony) Burger, Corpus Christi, Tex., and Lucy, Chatfield; two grandchildren; one great-grandchild; three brothers, Leonard, Virginia; the Rev. Blaine Lambert, Minneapolis, and Asa, Altadena, Calif., and a sister, Mrs. P. C. Reynolds, St. Paul.
Funeral services will be Friday at 2 p.m. at Pioneer Presbyterian Church, the Rev. David Brink officiating. Burial will be in Orion Cemetery.
Friends may call after 7 tonight and until noon Friday at Boetzer-Akeson Funeral Home and after 1 p.m. at the church.
Pallbearers will be Wallace and Gordon Mitchell, Judd Underleak, Dale Henry, Lloyd Ober and Robert Patterson.
Honorary pallbearers will be Max Bailey, Harry Sisson, Walter DeWitt, Frank Dudek, Max Ober and M. O. Amundson.

He married Olive Lucille Bernard 15 Apr 1922 in Cummingsville, Olmsted, Minnesota.
