Clift was born to Andrew Jackson and Martha Ellen (Heavin) Clift. He married in 1920 Minnie Gertrude Kinder at Anadarko, Oklahoma. He was later married to June Evanson in 1965 at Anadarko.
Clyde was a World War I Veteran of the U.S. Army, 357th Infantry, serving in France. He was a member of the Disabled American Veterans. Clyde came to Cement after World War I. He was a farmer, retiring in 1950.
He was preceded in death by his first wife Minnie in 1960; his second wife June in 1980; his parents; six brothers and one sister. Survivors include five sons- Tillman, Paul, Raymond, Truman and Lory J.; four daughters- Virginia Faye Harvell, Vallarie Christian, Julia Jones, Dollie Wagner; one brother, Clarence and one sister, Alpha Harris; 24 grandchildren and 30 great-grandchildren.
