The Reverend James G. "Jim" Dull, 62, of Wake Forest, died Friday, December 11, 2009 at Rex Hospital following a brief twelve-day illness.
Jim was born January 20, 1947 in Passaic, New Jersey, the son of the late Gertrude Honor Dull and James Dull, Sr. He graduated in 1964 from St. Mary's Grammar and High School in Rutherford, NJ and attended Bordentown Military Institute in Bordentown NJ following high school where he won Cadet of the Year Honors in 1965. Father Dull was a 1969 graduate of Seaton Hall University (Divinity School) and did Theological Studies at Immaculate Conception Seminary in Darlington, NJ.
He was ordained a Roman Catholic Priest for the Archdiocese of Newark, NJ, at Sacred Heart Cathedral in Newark, NJ, on May 26, 1973 and received his M.A. from Seton Hall University, on May 15, 1976. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus.
Father Dull served at St. Mary's in Nutley, NJ, Oratory Prep School in Summit, NJ and Our Lady of Libera in West New York, NJ. He also served in the Diocese of Trenton, NJ; St. Justin's Parish in Toms River, NJ & St. Pius X Parish in Forked River, NJ. Once being transferred to the Diocese in Raleigh, NC he served briefly at St. Bernadette's Parish in Fuquay-Varina, NC and was currently parochial Vicar at St. Catherine of Siena in Wake Forest, NC.
Father Dull is survived by his sister, Marya Dull Washington & husband, James; brothers, Carl Dull & wife, Linda of Rochester Hills MI and John Dull & wife, Helen of Rutherford, NJ; his long time close friend, Rev. Salvatore A. Busichio; several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his brother, Martin Dull.
