Services for George E. Coleman, 78, of Temple will be 10 a.m. Thursday at St. Luke Catholic Church in Temple with the Rev. Don Loftin officiating.

Inurnment will be in the columbarium of St. Luke Catholic Church.

Mr. Coleman died Sunday, Dec. 13, in a local hospital.

He was born Feb. 23, 1931, in Opelika, Ala., to Edward Wilson and Kathryne Cannon Coleman. He was a graduate of Clift High School in Opelika, and was a graduate of the University of Auburn where he was a member of Pi Kappa Alpha. He married Betty Sorensen in Hawaii in 1954. He was a U.S. Navy veteran serving during the Korean War. He retired after 37 years as a sales manager for Western Auto. He was a member of St. Luke Catholic Church, Knights of Columbus Council No. 7197, and a 4th Degree Monsignor of the Patrick J. O'Reilly Assembly No. 1138.

Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Ida Hicks of Moody and Brenda Tuck of Belton; a sister, Betty Forrest Coleman of Dothan, Ala.; a brother, John W. Coleman of Mobile, Ala.; two grandchildren; four stepgrandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and seven stepgreat-grandchildren.

Memorials may be made to St. Luke Catholic Church, 2807 Oakdale Drive, Temple, 76502 or to one's favorite charity.

A rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. Wednesday at Scanio-Harper Funeral Home in Temple.
