Chester L. Starks
Chester L. Starks, 50, of 446 N. Chatham St., Rock River Woolen Mills employee for 30 years, died at 10a.m. Monday in Mercy Hospital as a result of a cerebral hemorrhage. He became ill while at work and collapsed on the bridge over the raceway on the Mills property at 8:20a.m.
Mr. Starks was born in Fond du Lac, Aug. 3, 1903, coming to Janesville 38 years ago. He was married to Irma Hardy of Gotham, Wis. Aug. 28, 1923. Mr. Starks was a member of First Baptist Church.
Surviving are his wife; two sons, George and Clarence, both of Janesville; four daughters, Mmes. Floyd Schmidt, Robert Robinson, Robert Manz and Robert Crawford, all of Janesville; his mother, Mrs. Anna Johns, Janesville; a brother, Albert Starks, Janesville; 12 grandchildren.
Services will be at 2p.m. Thursday in the Reining Funeral Home, the Rev. Wayne Dalton, First Baptist Church officiating. Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home Wednesday evening.
