Catherine Lenora (Brown) Mustain, at the age of 91 years, 9 months and 26 days went to be with her Heavenly Father on April 10, 2014. She was a long time resident of Fair Play, and Bolivar, Missouri.

She was born to Charley and Nelmay (Van Buskirk) Brown on June 15, 1922 on the family farm outside of Jerico Spring, Missouri. She was the 10th child out of twelve children, and was the last surviving sibling. Her brothers and sisters were extra special to her. She loved to tell stories about the twelve.

She attended Boggy Springs school in Cedar County Missouri and graduated at Jerico Spring High School at the age of 16. She was very active in her school sports and activities. She was the one they all called on when someone had a baby or sickness in the family.

Catherine was saved during a revival at Boggy Springs school house when she was 12 years old.

Catherine was united in marriage to Gayles Mustain on October 9, 1940. They had 63 years together before his death on April 20, 2004. Catherine then lived her last 10 years in Bolivar enjoying her neighbors and friends. She continued to thrive until she was 90.

Catherine and Gayles farmed in the Shady Grove neighborhood, and then on a farm on BB Highway. She joined Bismont Missionary Baptist Church and was baptized. They lived four years in Rockford, IL working for Barbar Coleman Factory. Upon retiring to the farm she worked at the garment factory in Bolivar for over 20 years. During this time they moved to Fair Play, but then continued visiting, playing cards with all their friends and getting to the "Pickle Merry Makers" monthly get together plus Woodlawn dinners. Their church was very dear and important to them. She taught Sunday school to the young children for years and played piano. She enjoyed making quilts. Getting together with the ladies on Wednesday to chat around a quilt they were making was her special day. She was a member of the Senior Ladies that met in Fair Play.
She liked living at Butterfield Resident Care with her many friends for two years before her numerous trips to the hospital and care facilities.

She is survived by her three children: Louis and wife Marsha Mustain, Elizabeth and husband Fred Maples, Geraldine and husband Richard Fink and a step-son Drexel and wife Faye Mustain, 8 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren.
